I recently learned about a technique called Mindshifting, which is all about how to move from fight / flight / freeze to thinking and acting with your rational mind. I have experienced sensory overload all of my life, and it’s miserable. When I'm overwhelmed by my environment, I feel disoriented, irritated, or angry. Sometimes, it lasts for hours, and it can leave me feeling exhausted and discouraged. When I learned about Mindshifting, I began applying it to sensory overload, and it transformed my experience. Using this technique, periods of overstimulation last minutes instead of hours, and I come away feeling reenergized and optimistic.
